Family Law Practice
Stacy is a Wichita, Kansas, attorney with over 22 years experience practicing primarily in the areas of divorce, child custody, child support, paternity and parental access, as well as mediation and arbitration of those areas of family law.
Stacy has been a practicing attorney in Wichita since her graduation from law school. She is licensed to practice as a lawyer in the State of KS, as well as the Federal District Court for the District of Kansas and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. She is also a court-approved mediator, certified by the Office of Judicial Administration. She has conducted numerous continuing legal and continuing mediation education programs on a variety of topics in the field of family law, including divorce, child custody and child support.
Stacy is active in the Wichita Bar Association, where she has been a member of several W.B.A. Committees, as well as a past chairperson of the Family Law Committee. She was active on the local committee that authored the proposed rules requiring mandatory mediation of child custody and access issues.
Stacy is a native of Wichita, KS. She attended Wichita State University, receiving her Bachelor of Business Administration in 1985, with a major in Economics. She attended the University of Kansas School of Law, receiving her Juris Doctorate in 1989.
We are pleased to announce that Ashley L. Wiechman has joined our office as an associate attorney.
Ashley Wiechman is a Wichita native. She earned her Bachelor’s degree (B.A. Sociology, 2004) and her law degree (Juris Doctorate, 2011) from the University of Kansas, where she was also awarded a Certificate of Advocacy. After graduation, Ashley began her legal career as a prosecutor with the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office, where she worked in the Traffic Division.
Ashley has a strong commitment to helping people in difficult situations, as well as a background in working with children and families prior to attending law school. She is joining our firm to pursue her interest in family law and alternate dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration and case management.
Stacy and Ashley are both trained mediators, certified by the Kansas Office of Judicial Administration and approved by the Sedgwick County Family Law Department for mediation and case management referrals. Our office is accepting referrals in the following areas:

- parental access and scheduling
- stepparent adoptions
- appeals related to divorce and family law
- alternate dispute resolution services, including mediation, arbitration and case management
